Our Music Programs:

Piano Lessons

Our piano program offers only private instruction, which is the most effective way  to enhance the student’s talents and abilities.

Learning the piano is an excellent way to start playing music for all ages, from toddlers through adults.
The piano is an incredibly versatile instrument, and is great for developing a comprehensive knowledge
of music that can later be applied to all instruments and styles of music.

Piano lessons at California Music Academy are individual for each student, and the private lesson teachers customize a curriculum to fit every students needs and goals.
Piano lessons are the foundation of learning music, especially for very young children.

The piano offers young students a platform to develop ear training, note reading, rhythm, and musicianship
in a simple way.  Piano technique is ultimately focused on fine motor skills - however, due to the nature
and construct of the piano as an instrument, children can begin to learn the piano while using their gross motor skills.

Often times, a lack of fine motor skill development can be the most frustrating aspect of learning an instrument for young children - and the early piano studies eliminates this potential problem.
Learning the piano is also a great idea for parents who want their kids to get exposure to music and music education.

The piano offers immediate results - after one lesson you will find that you are able to play simple melodies and songs.  With other instruments, the learning curve is much greater. The piano also allows musicians of other instrument groups the ability to learn the foundations of music theory, and thus apply it to your given instrument.

California Music Academy has a variety of experienced and degreed piano teachers on faculty.
Feel free to contact CMA to book a trial lesson, and find out the many benefits of learning the piano.

Guitar Lessons

Our guitar program offers only private instruction, which is the most effective way  to enhance the student’s talents and abilities.

Guitar lessons are offered for all ages, levels, and styles of guitar playing and performance.  Students may choose between classical, jazz, rock, and/or blues guitar.  All guitar lessons offer students the opportunity to not only learn their favorite songs, but also learn the fundamentals of music and guitar playing including reading music/notation, music theory, and composition.

Every guitar instructor at California Music Academy creates a planned curriculum based on each student's individual goals and interests.  Therefore, students receive the right musical training depending on their own interests and goals.  Students can choose to learn on the acoustic, electric, or classical guitar.

Learning the guitar is an excellent way to keep young students motivated to learn music, as they have the opportunity to learn their favorite songs and styles of music.
When combined with proper musical education fundamentals - such as note reading and music theory lessons - learning the guitar can be an extrememly benefical instrument in achieving both the students and parents goals alike.

Guitar lessons are offered for all ages and levels of players, from beginning through advanced; from 5 years old through adult.

Singing Lessons

California Music Academy offers a wide spectrum of vocal lessons suitable for singers of all ages and experience levels.

Our voice and singing  program emphasize the development of proper vocal technique to protect the voice, improve sound production and gain confidence for personal enjoyment or public performances.

Students have the opportunity to learn basic posture, breathing, and diction. Special emphasis will be placed on basic stage etiquette, poise, and stage pres-ence in an informal atmosphere free of pressure.

All of CMA's vocal faculty are highly trained and experienced singers and vocal coaches.  Private lessons are a great way for students to develop sophisticated vocal technique, or become exposed to the art of singing.  Typically, students are encouraged to start vocal training around the age of 6 years old..  However, students under the age of 10 typically begin their vocal training singing in head voice, and developing ear training ability - they do not begin true vocal and breathing technique until their body is ready for such.

It is highly encouraged that all voice students take piano lessons as well.
Learning the piano can aid in a singers ability to create proper intonation, and can help voice students learn to read music at a quicker rate.  Many of CMA's voice teachers are also highly skilled in the piano, and students can take one-hour lessons with part of the lesson focused on piano.

Students can take multiple trial lessons until they find the teacher that suites them best.  Call is today to book a voice trial lesson!
